USA and China: Partners, Rivals or Adversaries?

Village member and East Asia expert Jonathan Pollack  will explore the  historical forces that shaped US-China Relations over the past century. by highlighting key aspects of the history. These include the the misperceptions and miscalculations that have characterized the relationship, and the risks and uncertainties involved.

Per Jonathan Pollack , "the second lecture will review China's tumultuous history during the 1950s and 1960s (i.e., before the US and China had any relations at all, other than fighting a war in Korea and almost going to war again in the waters off the Chinese coast and later in Vietnam!)"

The talk will commence at 7:00 pm in the Temple Isaiah Sanctuary and will be  followed by a question and answer session.  Coffee and dessert will be served after the event.
