Join us for a virtual evening that will begin with a short introduction to the history of the Mirisch Company and its influence and accomplishments.  Then participate  in a discussion of one the Mirisch Company's most impactful, socially relevant films--In the Heat of the Night.

About the Movie:
Released in 1967, In the Heat of the Night deals with a murder in a small Southern town that makes unlikely partners of urban Black detective Virgil Tibbs (Sidney Poitier) and redneck police chief Bill Gillespie (Rod Steiger). The film was directed by Norman Jewison and was the winner of multiple Academy Awards including Best Picture.

The movie is available to rent on Amazon Prime.
