There has been a vibrant Jewish presence in Morocco for at least two millennia. Just ten years ago the Moroccan government updated its constitution to proclaim that Jewish tradition is a core element in its national heritage. And just a few weeks ago the Moroccan government went further, announcing that it was adding Jewish history and culture to the school curriculum. For us looking from the outside, we see a profoundly beautiful way of being Jewish, in many ways unique to that country.
