Let’s Help Assemble Much-Needed Backpacks for Kids Going Back To School.

Please join the Social Action Committee on the evening of Tuesday, August 4 and/or the morning of Thursday, August 6 to help our friends at Big Sunday assemble back-to-school backpacks for kids in need.  We participated in this event last year, and we were part of a team that put school materials into the hands and onto the backs of over 5,000 kids.  It was tremendously rewarding (and a lot of fun) for all of us who participated.  All of the materials are provided; just bring yourselves and your enthusiasm.

The events are on Tuesday, August 4 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Thursday, August 6 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the Big Sunday headquarters, 1741 N. Cherokee Avenue in Hollywood.  As we get closer to the event, we will organize carpools from West LA.  Please register for either or both of the events.  We hope to get maximum CVLA participation in this worthwhile and engaging project!
