Museum Tour: Three Centuries of American Landscape Painting
About this event
We have the opportunity to take another excellent virtual tour of the Smithsonian American Art museum. Our docent will lead us in an exploration of how American artists have viewed landscapes in their own times. We will start in the early nineteenth century when artists were curious about what made their young country special, move on to the twentieth century when artists turned to the changing urban landscape, and conclude with contemporary times when climate change has had a significant effect on the landscape.
Our docent, Deborah Kaplan, will encourage us to interact with the art throughout the tour by providing opportunites to discuss her thought- provoking questions.
The Zoom link will be provided by the museum.
